What does this mean exactly? Fishing with a little line out and not really casting much?

Yes, short line very little casting; I fish pocket water with this technique.

Hi ssjchar,

Give this a try. One user recommend you put it on before you get the line or guides wet.

I just except the fact that I will be freezing up and deal with it….
IMO it is just part of fishing throughout the winter.
Slow down don’t forget to look around and enjoy your surroundings.

Though around these parts the really cold days are “only” in the teens….and I look forward to the balmy 30 degree weather days!

I wouldn’t mind trying the ice-off paste ideas, just never got around to it.

And don’t fool your self the dry fly fishing can be superb this time of year!
