Default Bass Pro White River Fly Shop Bass Taper Fly Line?

I was looking for a bass fly line and came across this. It is less than 1/2 the price of most other brands. Has anyone used this and if so, what were your thoughts?

Both my rods have BP lines, albeit not the bass tapers. I plan on picking one up this spring sometime for my 8 wt. They are decent lines at agreat price. If you want even cheaper look at the allen fly lines, the standard wff should turn over any bug you need unless your chucking something the size of a small dog.

I have it on my 8wt tfo right now. Its ok, its not real slick though. When it gets wet it doesn't shoot real well. Does better when casting in the back yard practicing.

Although I have never used that particular flyline, I have used 2 different types of flyline from the White River Flyshop: the Hobbs Creek and the CV2. Both lines float nicely, and both lines work...you need to apply line dressing to get them to shoot.

I imagine you will need to apply line dressing to the bass taper line as well.

Cheers,

Robert

I know this post is old, but it's helped me (or at least lead me to think of line dressing). I have the BP Bass taper line on my rod and noticed that (while practicing in the back yard) when I'm double hauling the line shoots forward fine but on the back cast it doesn't take at all. If I'm not double hauling I can feel equal load forward and back, and time my counter cast right at that instant. But I'm a bit concerned about the back haul. I'll try some line dressing and see if that helps.
