I think the most important thing is to get a low-memory line, that's why for trout fishing I like Cortland's Sylk line.

I'd second the lines from Allen Flyfishing. I bought one of Justin's reels and a rod and a line and I honestly can't tell any difference in either casting performance or floating ability between the Allen line and my $70 RIO lines I have on other outfits.

I won't be buying any more expensive floating lines. I am, however, sold on the Cortland 444 Clear Camo Intermediate lines and Allen doesn't have anything comparable.
