Default Tippet Question

This may seem like a dumb question but I normally fish using a 5X tippet. I want to use a #20 Griffith Gnat and 6X tippet. Can I tie on a piece of 6X tippet to my 5X leader using the same knot I use to tie a piece of 5X tippet to my 5X leader?

Default Re: Tippet Question

Don't see why it wouldn't work....on condition you don't tie a fluoro tippet to a normal leader...in that case it's better to use loop to loop connection or a tiny ring
hope it's clear

Sure.. do that all the time

I'm sure there's a recommendation about the max steps down you should go with a triple surgeons.. but 2 steps seems to work fine (like a 5x to a 7x) - one is no issues at all 5x - 7x
