Default Rio Versi Tip - Positive & Negative Feedback

Does anyone have experience with Rio Versi Tip fly line on single handed fly rods? It appears to be a nice solution to fishing multiple depths. How does it cast? Should you keep the loop to loop connection outside the rod tip while casting, or will the looped connections clear the guides? Is the performance and versatility worth the $150 for the multiple tips?
