Default Fly LIne for Classic Fly Rods: Winston WT, T&T Paradigm, Scott G2

Looking for line recommendations for a classic fly rod with a moderate action like the Winston WT, Thomas & Thomas Paradigm, and Scott G2. I have heard that the Wulff Triangle Taper and Rio DT or WF trout lines are a good place to start. Does any one have experience with lining these rods?

Chicagojohn, I use the Sage performance DT on my 2weight Winston WT rod and it casts very well. The Winston tech guy I spoke to recommended either the DT or normal weighted lines (Sci Angler XPS , mastery etc..). He specifically stated not to go with the 1/2 wt heavier lines for these classic action rods.

I have Wulff triangle taper on my WT's and G2. Casts very well on these rods.

SA's Trout or XPS would work well. I like the Trout line quite nicely on my Sage LL.

Rio's Gold or Selective Trout also would work well.

Cortland's Sylk might work well, but its following is rather love/hate.

Not a WT, but Rio Gold is my preference on my BIIX. Really makes that rod come alive. I haven't tried Trout LT...yet. Not that you haven't got good info here, but you may want to consider asking the line preference for the WT on the Winston Forum. There are some real die-hards there and a wealth of info on specific Winston rod models.

I like the Sylk line. Low memory, looks strange though.
