Default Recommend a fly line to the nube

Hi,
I am new to fly fishing so pardon my lack of knowledge, I went for the first time last weekend with at friend and got hooked. I caught 6 fish!!!

I bought a Ross essance fc 7'6'' 4wt rod
hand me down south bay 1122a reel
3x and 5x line and tippet
a few dozen flies

All I am lacking now is a floating fly line
I am fishing for brown and rainbow trout in small to medium fivers.

What line should i buy and where can i get the best price?

Thanks
Jesse

Do you have a price range you'd like to stay within? My personal preference for trout lines is Rio Gold. About $75-80, but worth every penny IMO.

Welcome to the board! You'll surely get more answers than I've provided. But at least it's a start, right?

For a beginner I'd recommend a Cabela's Prestige plus.
The reason being that the bright color will help you watch where the line is traveling which will help in the process of learning to cast
(plus they're on sale now at 30 beans )

Cabela's: Cabela's Prestige® Plus™ Floating Fly Line

You can go to Wal-Mart and purchase a Cortland 333 WF4F line for under $20. Then you can beat the snot out of it, and get a real line like a Rio Gold, Scientific Anglers Mastery Trout, Airflo Ridge Line Tactical Trout, or Wulff Triangle Taper.

Yep. I believe that Wallyworld bought a closeout deal. It looked like old packaging. Otherwise the cheapo Fairplay model can be gotten for $12.96.

I also saw the 333 line (current packaging) at Sportsman's Warehouse for $25.
