I found this while looking around this morning.

I have seen were Braid Lines have cut up cheap guides on surf rods used in power casting heavy weights.

good god,
what a shame to see such nice equipment banged up due to salt, sand, sharkskin or otherwise. i dont know like martin said on the other forum maybe his line was nasty and coated with salt or sand and ate away at the guides and reel frame.
