I'm getting some sink tip line for bass fishing/throwing big streamers in high water from a boat for big trout on an 8wt. I like the Rio Outbound Short sink tip line but i can't decide what sink sink rate I should get. any suggestions would help. thanks.

you're gonna want a medium sink and a very fast sink.

When you are casting to a shad boil you want your fly under them very fast.

class 6 which is somewhere in the 7" per sec. range. I have a 10' class six sink tip lineand a 24' 300 gain sink tip both are rated for 7" per second. The 24' foot by far is easier to handle, easier to cast with preciesion, easier to cast with minimal false casts, also the 24" 300 grain gets the fly much deeper thru the entire retrive.
