Actually, yes. I tried the Rio Bass and Musky on it. I was out casting it today during lunch. The rod is so much faster than the Hardy Demon. This particular line feels great on the Demon.

What we've left out is my lack of casting ability. I can cast, but someone who knows what they are doing will laugh.

Nobody should laugh, even the best casters had to start somewhere man and often times, people are harder on themselves and are really better than they think anyway.

If it feels light, try a heavier line, it's likely the rod has a higher ERN than a "7" as Dan has touched on. I know nothing about the line you have, but it's likely already a half size heavy, so maybe up lining really is the best option.
