Default Airflo Bandit vs SA MEDT Rio Gold

Can someone please refresh my memory on the Bandit's proficiency versus the MEDT or Rio Gold on a 5 or 6w? Very much like certain aspects of the SuperDri Elite, but have cast or fished the Bandit.

Any details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Default Re: Airflo Bandit vs SA MEDT Rio Gold

I fished Airflo Bandit on my NRX#6 all last season. It replaced an Airflo Elite which coiled and scraped-up on me (lots of drift boat abuse). I want a non-stretch core line for this rod hence Airflo plus the taper of Bandit is the first Airflo taper I have really liked. Bandit is a touch heavier than true, like a 6.2 weight which is fine but just is not as responsive to mending input as I like and it is, intentionally camo, hard to see. This season NRX is getting a RIO IT Gold like its 5-weight sibling enjoyed last year. Except for the salt where I have 3 Airflo lines a like a lot, I'm done with them for trout for the time being.
mcnerney and mudd foot like this.

SweetandSalt,

On the Rods forum,in the 6 Weight thread, you mention liking SA MEDT on ONE. Am fishing both a 5 and 6w ONE with Rio Gold. Could you kindly provide a contrast between Gold, IT Gold, and MEDT for One?

Thanks,
