Re: 2 weight lines

I have been thinking of trying the Cortland Clear Creek 2 wt to replace the Orvis line. My cat chewed the first two feet while I was cleaning it (the line not the cat!)

I asked that question years ago and a competition caster suggested I try .031 SL floating line from SA. If you've got some of that laying around you might give it a try Troutwhisperer.

Don't know if it's the best line, but I think it is the cheapest. Sierra Traders has Orvis 1 and 2 weights on sale for $9.99 and Sage 00 for $14.95. I order a couple lines yesterday, haven't received them yet. One thing I found out by fortunate accident, if your order is over $25, you get free shipping.

The more you know, the less you need.

I think you are leaving an important option out.

I just picked up Sage's quiet double taper in 2wt at Sierra Trading Post and it is a fantastic line. I have the 3wt as well and it casts very nice. In fact, only my Orvis WF power taper line casts better than the Sage quiet double taper.
