Unfortunately I think she is thinking on getting me a pair for some sort of gift.. one for the hurt index finger and also for the sun burn/skin cancer...
HA!!!! Definitely been there with the wifely assistance. I got pretty lost one time on some backcountry trout water, losing the trailhead and pushing darkness pretty good. All turned out well and a couple weeks later, on my birthday, my wife gave me a hiking GPS. Better than a flare gun, I guess...

And I can ALWAYS count on a sunscreen reminder.

Sep,
I see you are from Pittsboro NC. I live in Apex. Do you fish the white bass spawn coming in the next month or so?

I've been in Pittsboro only for a year-and-a-half (escaped from Cary) and missed the white bass run last year, but WON'T miss it this year. I live within walking distance of the Haw, tucked deep in the woods about half way between the 64 and 15-501 bridges, and fish it regularly for LMBs. See my fishing report from last week..

It's a great place to fish, once you get away from the bridges...
