Level of tying experience needed to tie this pattern Beginner, a fairly simple pattern using basic tying skills.
Materials listed in order of tie in:
Hook Scud hook, size 12-14, DaiRiki 125 size 12 here
Thread 8/0 Amber or Olive
Tail Tuft of Amber or Olive
Shellback Thin strip from plastic bag 1/8" wide for size 12 hook. Tie in and leave trailing off rear of hook. After body is dubbed, pull over and tie down with thread, then rib with Krystal Flash
Rib Pearl Krystal Flash
Dubbed Body Amber dubbing picked out with point of bodkin and trimmed
Head Thread
Special tying notes
Target species Trout
Fishing notes An excellent pattern fo srping creeks, lakes ponds and tailwaters-- wherever scuds are found
