Materials listed in order of tie in:
Hook Scud hook, Tiemco 2457 size 16 here
Bead head Gold Bead sized to hook, 1/8" here
Thread Green 6/0
Tail None
Rib Pearl Flashabou
Abdomen Creamy Mint Green Dubbing
Thorax Peacock Herl
Legs Brown Partridge
Head Thread
Special tying notes Slip bead on hook, small hole first. Tie in Rib. Dub body, counterwrap with Flashabou rib. Add Legs, tie on strands of peacock herl, wrap 2 turns. Tie off thread directly behind bead.
Target species Trout
Fishing notes Great for dead drifting close to the bottom in riffles or directly below them. Imitates free living caddis larva like Rhyacophila.

I went and tied a number of these after you posted it a while back. Its a very effective fly here using a darker green...and also does well with light tan body w/rusty thorax.

Many of 'us' here on the upper Rogue use a two fly system for Steelhead fishing. This type of fly, done on a size 8 - 12 is more often than not, the 'trailer.' First fly gets their attention, the second is what the fish will usually jump on.

A good thing me thinks?:D
