Hook Wet fly, size 16 and smaller
Thread Black
Tail Red wool
Rib Silver oval fine
Body Black floss
Wing None
Hackle 2 turns of starling feather, tied in by tip
Head Black thread
Special tying notes Starling is inexpensive at about $6-7.00 for a complete skin, and is an excellent source of small feathers for soft hackles and wet flies size 16 and smaller.
