Thanks Jason, the flies are great. I fished today and missed hooking the only grab I had. I did see some fish that would require plenty of drag............

Charged,

You are getting really crafty at rejuvenating reels bud! There are plenty of beat up Hardy's that go cheap on auction because of cosmetics. You are doing nice work.

While growing up at the age of 14, my first job was in a pattern shop for a parents family friend (working mostly as a janitor). A few years later I periodically worked in a high schools friends fathers auto-body shop, when he needed entry level help. So I am aware of what skilled craftsmen are able to accomplish.

I picked up a few basics along the way. My own tools in comparison are still very primitive, but give me a basic foundation to tackle most my projects. The basic metal shaping skills I learned early on were mostly forgotten for many years until I got addicted to this hobby. The one attribute that may have remained, is I saw first hand how things got accomplished, and I'm now willing to give it a try.

For me just trying to tackle a beat up reel, and restore it to a functional fishing tool is a fun hobby in it's own definition.

Thought I could post a reply. I took this picture on John Dunn Bridge last week. It is our new reel the Taylor Reel One.

Ruttness,

You have good taste in both reels and refreshments.

And formal introduction to one of the locals.

They are a little over priced for another Korean reel but I have to admit the design is awesome and these are very very nice reels.
