Default South Bends Finalist 1122

Hi everyone,

My Dad gave me an old South Bends Finalist rod and reel that he bought when he was a kid but he never took to fly fishing. Since then it's been sitting in a box with a bunch of other reels. I've been trying to find info on this reel, but all I've been able to discover is that it was made in the 60's some time.

Does anyone have any info on this reel? I'd like to know what weigh line I could use with it...

Ant

If it is sort of a red - burgundy color, that was my second fly reel. I used a level equivalent of a #6 or 7 on mine. You are correct in it's age and Bob's link will answer the rest.

That's the one.

Thanks for the link, Bob. That's a really neat site.
