Default Reel recommendations for Avid 6wt?

I'm a beginner. NEVER cast a flyrod before. Just bought an Avid 9' 6wt. Will be using it if I ever go on fishing trips with my father-in-law, and maybe occasionally for kicks fishing for bass. Can someone give me a recommendation on a decent reel to pair up with it? Not looking to sepnd a fortune, but not wanting junk, either. I also am not the least bit averse to buying used. I understand that everyone has their own opinion, and will take that into account. I'm just trying to get some ideas since I am new to this.

Thanks,

Dave

Look at the Allen Fly Fishing website (Allen Fly Fishing). He even has an online chat thing that is cool, you can ask him questions there. You can read alot about his stuff here. Just be patient with Justin, as he was a one person business, but has recently added a partner. I hear that the little bit of extra time you may have to wait is worth it.

I agree with Forrest. Justin's on honeymoon according to his newsletter and his partner's still relatively new so make sure you mention you're a Forum member as he gives us a discount. I'm pretty sure you'll have a hard time finding anything close to his reels at the same price point.

Happy fishing,

Kai.

After doing some research on the Allen reels, I've been in email contact with Justin's partner Evan (even Justin responded to my chat request on his honeymoon. That's great customer service! Crazy, but great! Sure hope his new bride is understanding!) and am purchasing an Alpha.

Thanks for the input!!

Dave
