Default Question about a hardy reel

So I was out garage sailing(intended) and picked up what is pictured for 5 bucks.

I looked at it, it said Hardy's, Alnwick, Patent

That immediately caught my eye, so I grabbed it at such a cheap price. However, I'm not sure what I have, and I've spent some time looking and the best I can come up with is a 20's era Perfect, but its missing some stuff and looks a little different. Some googling brought me here, and it looks like we have some Hardy experts here so I thought I'd try. Any help would be appreciated. I also can't see a way to get the reel apart.

Thank you!

Its brass foot and 3 flush screws date it to before WWII most likely. It apperas to be a variation on the Perfect theme which was a regular thing for Hardy Bros. to do in the old days. Don't use undue force, but lock the spool from rotating with your hand and crank the plate (handle side) counter clock wise...this will probably remove the spool.

I would recomend contacting John Shaner and/or Pres. Jim Murphy at Hardy North America HARDY GREYS FISHING John is vey knowlegable about these rare variations.

Oh, by the way, it is worth more than $5 but it is so old you probably should have offered $4...

Yep, John S has forgotten more about Hardy reels than I know, But I'd be more then willing to help you double your money.

John, and the Hardy boys will be tied up this week at the Fly tackle dealer show. I'd put in a call next week to Hardy in Lancaster PA.

Save for this reel should be given a bit of 'reconditioning,' an age thing, you've just SCORED BIG TIME!

It appears that all questions have been answered but I must say you have been very fortunate in buying that for 5 dollars.
