Great reel, is good for the price. You can't really go wrong with ross. I have the CLA4 for my 8 wt and it is great for the steelhead around my area

Re: Ross CLA ?

I have 3 CLA's (3,4, and a 6)and so far have no issue with them and the price point is reasonable.

I use a 5 and a 6 on a couple of my lighter Spey Rods and they work just fine.

When I only saw it in pictures I thought it was ugly.

When I actually got to handle one in a shop it had sort of an utilitarian aesthetic appeal to it.

(draw any parallels to strykr's comment at your own risk)

Re: Ross CLA ?

LOL! agreed Cliff.

My14' 8/9 wt Spey is an older Loomis GL3 with the matte black finish and I love the way CLA 6 reel looks on that rod. :shades: "Utilitarian" is a fine word for describing it.
