Default Reel Art!

I stumbled across this blog this morning while searching Google + for fly fishing

Seems like this hand made reel belongs in a cabinet rather than attached to the end of a fish.

I have to say it looks great, though a tad heavy.

I can see why, with a taste for such a reel, you would be concerned with the the posthumous sale of your tackle inventory.

Red garnet and buffalo bone? The thing is like a crown jewel of fly fishing! What a beauty...

That'll be hard to beat but think of that brass if it starts to oxidize. He probably coated it but ...........

Absolutely beautiful! However, I bet I would have to sell most of my current rods & reels to be able to afford to buy it!

I think this falls into the category: If you have to ask the price you definitely cannot afford it!

Yup, famous quote from JP Morgan; still viewed by some as being as true today as when he first said it:

If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it

But, in my opinion there are some things that are way over the top with regards to construction/price vs. funtionality and without knowing the price of that skeleton reel, I'd venture that it might fall into that category.
