GREAT PRICE! I bought several SLV's at about the same price about 6 years ago. I still have two, and they're still going strong. For some reason, I'm always dropping the SLV's but they can take a beating. The drag is like silk, and the retrieve is silky and silent. I've owned a lot of reels over the past 10 years, and the SLV is the only one I don't have any complaints at all. I did manage to slam one into the asphalt hard enough to strip some threads on the drag knob a few years ago, but a quick call to Okuma has a new knob at my door through Fedex 2-day. I think they charged me around $5 total, and sent a second knob!

great deal on a nice reel! its hard to try and think of a better reel for under 40 bucks....oh wait, there isn't one
as mentioned before by frank, butter smooth drag, outstanding tolerances for a cast reel plus a bomb proof finish.
and for 39 bucks whats not to love
