Default TFO BVK II Super Large Arbor reel

I just pulled the trigger on one of these because of a super deal - essentially, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for in a new reel for my custom 6wt I am having built.

4.9oz and a TON of line capacity - 200yrds/20lbs + WF6F line.

It's also fully machined and has a maintence free drag system.

Has anyone else used this reel? It seems absolutely fantastic

I have been using a moss green III, and I think they are a lot of reel for the money. The drag is very smooth, and as you said it has plenty of line capacity, especially since I loaded mine with gel spun backing. Plus, they are pretty sharp looking.

Thanks! The only real complaint I have been able to find on it is that the drag is kind of weak - would you agree with that or does it seem to be sufficient?

I have seen some big fish caught on that reel, so I'm not sure how much I really believe that.

I believe the TFO guy at the Lancaster Fly Show told me it maxes out at 11 pounds of drag. For me, that is more than ample, but some people like to crank down and basically lock-out their reels. If I need more than 11 pounds of drag, I'll palm it.......but 11 pounds is quite a bit of drag!
