If the Konic is somewhere near the Guru in quality you can't go wrong with a Lamson Konic and they also have great warranty.

I have both reels and love them both.

The Cortland Retro is great because of its simplicity, classic design, and light weight. Because of its lighter weight, I use it on a 376 Redington CT for high alpine trout in smaller creeks.

The Lamson Konic is great because of its durability, awesome drag, and modern looks. I use it on a 490 Sage Vantage for nymphing medium-sized, freestone rivers.
