Reel suggestion for Winston GVX 9' 6 wt

I have this rod ordered and now am thinking about a reel. Any ideas? Would something like an Abel 5n be to heavy in your opinions? It will hopefully be used for smallmouth in NJ and maybe an occasional carp trip. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

I have not cast or fished the GVX, but I use the Rio Gold on my BIIMX and it works great. Friends of mine also use the Gold on their 6wt BIIXs.

I have an Orvis Hydros LA II on my 4wt 8ft GVX. It balances out PERFECTLY loaded with 100yds of dacron backing and 4wt rio gold.

Sorry, my dyslexia kicked in with mr prior post. I have a Galvan Torque 5 on my 6wt BIIMX (I also use the T5 on my 5 wt). I don't own any Abel Supers but everyone I know who fished them loves them.

I think reel weight may be another of those personal choices. Some prefer heavier reels and some lighter. I have friends who fish the Nautilus FWX (lighter) and others who fish the Supers (heavier) and both say the reels balance their rods. Good luck!
