I think they have that covered. I have been loaned a prototype of the reel and the drag adjustment is great. The knob is big and easy to adjust and can crank way down. It feels smooth at all settings and I think it is going to be a great reel. I haven't fished with it yet but will be using it for fishing Kings the first weekend of October. I'll be sure to give a lot of feedback to Justin and let you guys know how it goes. We'll also have a Kraken to compare side-by-side.

Thanks for all the input on the colors. Lots to choose from. Joni, It took me 2 years to come out with a Burnt Orange for Alan hope the red is done way before that. We will stay with a "Standard" color and 1 or 2 other colors.

Also, the input on the handle is great. I think it's an overlooked section of a reel and can really make the difference.

** We have another two surprised releases before the Omega. We hope you all enjoy those as well. One is another move from Asia back to the States. (Joni has been using it for the last week)

Keep the input coming.

Thank you,

Justin

I got my two reels the other day in the mail and they look awesome. One thing I thought is that it would be cool to be able to personalize the reels a bit by having the option to order the reels with different color drag knobs and the spool change knob/nut thing. IE, if I ordered an aluminum/gunmetal colored Trout II I could order it with the Burnt Orange knobs or whatever standard colors you already offer. To me, a small additional charge would be worth it too. Not even sure if this would be feasible but we all like to have our own unique gear. Just a thought.

skrap, No problem. Send me an email info@allenflyfishing.com with what you would like. We'll send you some other colors to mix and match. This is something we have done in the past on request.

Thanks

Justin

They are being machined now. My only hold up is the reel foot. Still going back and fourth to machine it into the frame or not.

Thanks

Besides Hatch Reels, Ross machines the F1 foot as part of the housing. They are the only two I am aware of. I would be very curious to know what their "drop - bend - repair" process and rate are. I have not personally seen a damaged foot of this type but it must have happened... An alternative that is also superior to radiused and screwed is a dove-tailed fitted and screwed assembly. It provides the requisite rigidity and quality craftsmanship but also facilitates easy repair. A smooth, powerful drag, flex free spool and frame, a great handle, narrow aspect ratio and handsome looks are all extremely important but nothing is as valuable as rock solid reliability.
