Asked this myself and have also noted a couple of times that there needs to be more technical information on them added....But *crickets*

I have an Array 7/8 that I've only been using for a few weeks for salmon. So far, so good. There was a minor issue with machining marks on the inside spokes of the reel but this was addressed immediately so is a non-issue. The tolerances/finish are very good and the performance to date has been perfect. Time will tell how the drag and overall performance of the reel will stand up.

If I had one complaint it would be backing capacity....I have mine loaded with WF8 line and like to use 30 lb Dacron and I can squeeze about 100 yards max on the reel.....may or may not be a factor for others. This is not a trait unique to this reel as some of newer LA reels give up a bit in the backing capacity department.

I also have an Allen Kraken that was purchased at the same time and would rate these two reels equally. The Kraken gets an extra point for backing capacity and the Array gets and extra point for type III anodizing. Customer service from both companies was a solid A+. Drag performance appears to be very similar but I have not really pushed either of them. It's a tie at this point.

Good to know! I'm a fan of more backing... otherwise it's like having a crew cab dually and towing a pop up camper
