Default New Allen Series rods

Does anybody know when Allen is going to come out with the new ATS and XA series rods? And how are their Trout II reels?

I have a trout II on my 3wt rod.. Its a nice smooth reel.. I have only it a few times but it has a nice drag and the weight feels good on my allen rod.

Hi Jason1078,

We have decided to make our Xa2 rods here in the USA. It's another move to our commitment to US products. We will be taking photos of the new rod next week and will launch the rod shortly after.

Thank you,

Justin

Hi Justin,

Are you able to tell us who will manufacture the blanks for you? From what I've read I'm quite impressed with your commitment to quality, service and affordability. I applaud your attempt to bring some work and money home.

tfrank, Right now we are keeping that to us. I hope you can understand. It has taken much resources and a good financial commitment to make this happen.

Thank you,

Justin

That's fine. I understand that sometimes that is part of the deal that you would have to make. It's all good. I just figured I would ask in case it wasn't part of it. Hence the word able. If you can expand your customer base and keep prices down at the same time,I would say that's good business.

Joni and I have been fishing this rod- XA2- for a few weeks now (9' 6wt. w/fighting butt).
Let's just say if Allen were to sell this rod for $450+, it would be worth every penny. I know it will be a lot less though. I would keep my eyes open for when they release them, cause the first wave will sell out fast.

I haven't been this wound up about a fly rod in a long time.
