I had been eyeing this reel for a while now, just didnt have the ching to drop on another reel for my 4 wt. The Trout 2 is a nice reel out of the box, and 'clicks' both directions which I like. Lightweight, easy to use drag. Came with a nice case and I really like the 'burnt orange" color. Looking forward to getting this reel on the water.

Good on you sincerely for sharing their generousity and your good fortune. It may sound cold yet is not intended as such. Companies sponsor this site, and give away products to advertise as they should and need to....Showing off your reel is not only proof that they pay off, yet a nice showing of their product.

Congratulations, I hope this reel serves you very, very well

Always nice to get a new reel!! I have a couple of Allen reels. Always nice to get a new rod. Not sure if I enjoy a new rod or reel more. Probably the reel. I value a good drag. I love to hear the drag sing to me on a run of fish at the end of my rod.
Enjoy the new reel!

Without looking at their website to confirm, my hunch is get the Kraken 3 ( not necessarily the kraken xla). Overstuff the spool for the 4wt with backing.

I imagine getting in to a salmon with very little backing on a undersized reel could be trouble.

I think the kraken is closest in price to the trout compared to Kraken XLA
