Default Taylor Fly Fishing

I just got a Taylor Reels Array in size 5/6 and I have to say it performs as good as it looks. They're a new company but deserve a look if you're in the market for an affordable reel. Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.

Great news Mike,

Taylor Reels was a business member here for a while. I wish they had stayed on until their products began to get some play. Glad you're happy with the reel,

Ard

Before they build rods I hope they get their reel inventory in place. It's been months they've been out of some colors. I gave up. Hope they fix the situation and enjoy success because the product sure looks nice.

Great to see our reels showing up on the Forum! We are thrilled you like the reel! We are actually still a business member here, but just have not been very active lately. We are looking forward to using the forum to help get our products out! Thanks for the shout out!

I have a Type1 and like it. It's a very nice piece. Good looking reel and works well.

However, spare spools were promised for the Type1, but never materialized. Even though Taylor's a NM company, and I'd like to buy local, I'm not going to buy another.

I just got a 5/6 Array in the mail yesterday.

Very smooth, very light and a beautiful drag with some grunt if needed.
The machining is awesome. Price is great.
Just wish I up sized as it's soo light.

Question Re: Taylor Fly Fishing

I have been fairly dissapointed trying to find info on these reels. I have even tried contacting the company directly with no response. Some good feedback, some negative, about lack of availability etc. We use mostly 6-7 wt rods from drift boats, two flies, weight, all the junk. Sometimes two streamers and full sinking line. Haven't seen too many folks chiming in with 20+ inch brown or steelhead stories. How do these perform on big fish? Might wana put these on boat rods but haven't heard enough and haven't been impressed with lack of feedback from company. They post pics of there reels on social media saying they speak for themselves or to check them out. That's about it. Anything bigger than an 8 wt in the works? Fully sealed is nice, but want to throw bigger stuff in the keys etc. any thoughts?

Funny, I was just on Allen's website, they look nice too. Customer service is paramount in my book. Especially for small outfits.
