Default guide spacing

I have some old fiberglass rods i use for bass fishing that i would like to add some more guides to . mostly to stop some of the line bellying out between guides.is there a formula as to guide spacing on these that some one knows off hand,or a website with the info that some one knows of? most of them are 8.5 ft rods 7-8 wt if it makes a difference,

Chris Carlin a great cane rod builder from Alaska came up with this.

I've been using it for a couple years now and it works great. Minor tweaking of some guides, but all in all the easiest I've seen and used.

Go to this site and check out Static Guide placement and see how close you are. This is how I do it. Building both 'glass and plastic rods. It works.

I like to keep most guides as far away from me as possible.
