A rod wrapper can be as inexpensive as a notched box, a tea cup, a book, and your fingers. You just roll the blank in your fingers, and guide the thread/silk on to the blank as you go. I find it restful.
Thank you very much. I'm gonna give it a whirl. Worst case, I just go back to the power wrapper.
