Thank You. I grew up as a mate on a fishing boat in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn.
I started building boat rods for the captains when I was 18 (that was 21 years ago). Left untreated it turned into a full blown disease

There's a fine line between ambitious and just plain stupid. The jury is still out on this one...

This is my new surf rod, 36" wrap with a plate style reel seat wrapped on. Not sure how I talked myself into this one...

So, 36" of dec wrap later, 8hrs spend gluing and turning grips, an hour of CP and epoxy application time and only the bottom half is done . If I don't lose complete interest in this project it should be throwing plugs in a few weeks. I'm notorious for spending tons of time on the bottom half of a rod and then losing interest and never putting guides on.
