Default blank advice

This is my first post on this side of the pond! I'm over in Scotland, where believe it or not it ain't rained for donkeys years and my local river is bone dry. So plenty of time to think about rods.
Was looking at Anglers roost 12, 11 and 10ft ultra high modulous rods - anyone any idea what they are like/comparable to?
Also looking at 11ft switch rods. The rainshadow looks favourite at the moment, but was wondering if there's anything I've missed.
