Default Proud owner of a brand new old classic!

Thanks to fyshstykr I have a new rod project on the horizon. After I had commented on a different thread about how when I was young and very green that I really wanted a G Loomis rod, even though I knew nothing about them. It turns out those mid-1990's Loomis IMX rods that I longed for is now a "classic" new-era graphite rod. Looking out for my interests (and not my pocket book or weak will against buying blanks) John pointed me in the direction of a G.Loomis IMX blank that was for sale.

The 8'6" 4wt IMX is now on it's way to me! I wasn't planning on building another rod this season, but I already know I will have a hard time not spending my nights getting busy on this blank.

Thanks fysh, I'll let you all know when I get this thing lined out.

You are fooling yourself if you think the addiction will ever die Good find, I love the Loomis IMX rods. Of course I just bought a Sage fiberglass 7'6" 2 piece 4 weight blank that I have no use for other than to build it out.

Don't worry, there will be another rod you will just have to build as soon as you finish this one. I'm a big help huh?

Can't wait to see what you do with the blank.

Pete

That he does.

I recognize your website from visiting the rod building forum. I've read your advice plenty, I rarely comment there, just lurk around and garner a lot of knowledge.

Welcome!

Guilty as charged!

I couldn't let that deal pass without someone I know, or myself taking advantage of it. Looking forward to seeing the rod in action when I visit your valley in July.

I've already decided on Snake dark nickel guides, top to stripper. I have a stash of nice Flor grade cork. So now I'm considering a Lemke seat, I emailed Ron for pricing and I like it. I've never used one...actually considering a down locking slide band, also something I've never used. Hmmm....

The blank showed up yesterday. I love the sanded grey, matte finish. I instantly think black wraps, but I know I'll spend too much time looking at colors for consideration.
