I assume you mean matching to a thread color? I don't think you're going to "match" that per-say. I used the black nickel Snake guides not long ago, I really like the color for guides but it's not a solid color really and I don't see finding a thread that will match, i.e. look like the shiny, darkened chrome of the guide. Thread color is solid and metallic silver is too silver (but would look fine IMO). I used black metallic sulky on my latest rod and it's not very metallic but is very black.

Here are the dark nickel guides on a blue blank with a couple different blue threads.

Winston 12'6" 6wt. Spey

Pac Bay Metallic Pewter trim wraps on my Winston Spey. Pictures aren't great, the Pewter is actually darker than it shows in the pic. Not Dark Nickel guides, but you can get a rough idea.

I do have pics of my St. Croix switch rod with Pewter trim, but I can't post the link here as it is tied to my business web site. Shoot me a PM and I'll send you the link.
