Welcome to the forum. I hope you find my post helpful. These are the questions that I were asked by the local shop guy when I got into Spey fishing.
Sorry, I don't fish the Snake. I won't go into brands, but knowing a few things may help me recommend some rods.
In single handed rods, what line weight do you like to fish on the Snake?
What type of fish do you plan on targeting?
What size flies are you throwing?
Do you plan on dredging deep?
What style of casting do you like (traditional, Scandi, Skagit)?
Do you plan on shooting line or casting a fixed line?
Do you like a rod that flexes toward the tip, mid section, or all the way into the grip?
What time of the year would you be using your rod?
What's your budget?
The questions are designed to help me figure out what type of rod and line would be best for your style of fishing. From there reels would be secondary since there are a lot of good reels on the market. If you have a favorite brand, I am sure there is a model for you.
