Default Berkley Para/metric

I inherited an old rod of my dad's and nobody knows where he got it from. I was wondering what anyone knew about it. It's labeled in hand writing Berkley para/metric PS40 (may be p540 but I think it's ps40) Curved Taper. It's an 8' 6-7 weight. I have had trouble finding out anything about it online. It's a classy maroon-ish looking rod. I'll post some pictures if anyone is interested.
