Default TFO Pro 9 wt or Ross Essence FS 9wt for Salt/Big Game?

Hey guys, Im building up a salt/big game outfit for my trip to Hawaii in June as well as to have for around here for Bass and Striper.

I am looking at a 9 wt between the Ross Essence FS or the TFO Professional. I have a TFO Pro 5 wt and love it, but I have seen rave reviews about the Ross Essence FS rod and thought I would give it a try and save a little money at the same time.

Any thoughts on these two?

Whatever I end up with is getting an 9/10 Allen Alpha II mounted on it

Any help deciding would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Jason

In that price range I'd sooner have an Echo ION.

For your application, I would prefer a faster rod. Cast both of these rods to see which one works best for you. Then cast something faster like a TFO BVK, Redington RS4 or CPX, or Echo Ion. Whichever rod feels best casting for you is the one you want.

Both of these rods are listed as medium fast action. Is that just "not fast enough"?

The Echo Ion is listed as Medium Fast+ and the TFO Pro and Ross are medium fast.

That means the Echo Ion is faster?

Thanks for your help in getting this sorted out.
