The Axiom is a fast rod designed to throw heavy lines and big flies. Of all the fast action rods by TFO, it is the smoothest casting. It has the least amount of tip bounce compared to the rest of the fast action TFOs.

It will fit well.

I have only played with the 8 and 9 weights. These rods can throw lines in their respective line weights plus shooting heads two line weights up. The Axiom is very popular with the Striped Bass crowd here in Northern California.

One of my friends likes the 9 weight as his Baja beach rod.

I have an Axiom 8wt and love it. Loaded with Sharkskin GPX it's a serious rocket launcher. Bought it for reds and bones but have only used it for stripers and largemouths so far.

I have a friend, as long-time trout bum, who loves his 6wt Axiom so much he swears he'll never buy another "premium" rod again.

I have a friend who fishes 98% salt, does it damn well, owns TCR's and Xi2's, and swears that the Axiom is the best rod he's ever fished.

I've only waggled them in shops, never cast any. They look really sharp too.
