Default T.F.O. TiCr-x experiences and opinions.

Im looking for a 5wt rod and i have heard good things about the ticrx rods (money is a factor). However, i read a review that suggests the ticrx 5wt rods handle more like a 6wt rod, and i would be better off buying the ticrx 4wt rod and putting a 5wt line on it.

Does that sound like a good idea?

All experiences and suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

-Seth

FAST action. Good for wind and big bugs. I like the two handed option offered.

I agree with Joni. The TiCrX is a fast action rod. It's really fast. Uplining it helps the rod load better. Fishing a 4 weight with a 5 weight line is not a bad idea.

If you would rather have a more all around rod in the TFO brand, look at the Professional series of rods. They are more user friendly with their medium-fast actions.
