Default Rod comparison

I have casted a Sage Flight 790-4 with a Wolf triangle taper. Wow what a combo. This is a 350.00$ rod.
Has anyone had a chance to cast a TFO TF 07 90 4B
And how would you compare the two. Other than the TFO is 250.00$

If I recall correctly, you are referring to the 9 foot 7 weight BVK. Compared to the Flight, the BVK will have a lighter and crisper feel. Flex points are very similar, but I felt that I did not have to push the BVK as hard as the Flight.

I agree, though it sounds like I like the Flight a bit better than MP.

The two rods are quite similar, and unless a friend or family member works for Sage, you owe it to your wallet to try the TFO BVK.

I have read alot of great reviews on the BVK. The 100.00 $ differance is a plus. I saw this chart that showed a minimal lifting rating on the BVK. Not sure I understand the meaning. Other than compared to high sticking a rod.

The BVK is a rod that is designed to get the fly at a multitude of distances accurately. In TFO's line up, it is primarily a casting tool. It will not have the same lifting power as a Bluewater, TiCr, and TiCrX rods. If you fish out of a boat lifting power is necessary to pull sounding fish. Lifting power is good if you want to yank a bass out of the weeds.
