Default colton rods?

has anyone ever fished with a "colton" rod? i have a "slipstream" 6' 2 weight 3 piece and have yet to cast it. looks and feels like a sweet little rod.
nice tube as well

I have heard a lot of great reviews of Colton rods....and right now they are half off.....supposedly GREAT warranty service, but anybody have any experience with them before I buy.

I have a couple of Colton reels and think they're great, but haven't touched one of the rods. Ask around some of the striper-oriented boards. I know some guys have experience with them, and the owner is a member on a couple.

I bought a blue 7wt tradewinds last year. The rod felt really light and was casting well. I broke it during the summer on a hookset of a large carp. I paid the $50 to replace it and broke it on the same day I received it with light bending.....lesson learned. I own 11 fly rods and have been fishing since I was 5 yrs old...I know what a rod should and should not be able to handle. In fact, those 2 rods are the only rods I have ever broken in my life, cheap K-mart rods included!

I just fished one for a week in Baja with no problems. I love the way it casts and caught quite a few fish but no real monsters beyond what I thought an 8 wt should handle. I'll buy another when I need a heavier rod.
