Echo Ion fly rod

Has anyone have any experience with the Echo Ion line of rods. I am looking at an 8wt that I can use for carp and wipers and possibly northern pike. Also what length would you suggest, 9' or 10' and what difference does it make?
Thanks for the help.

Also from Echo, I prefer the new Echo 3 line.

I try it last saturday, and if you like the action of the loomis GLX, you'd like it.

I'll try it for the next season on 9' 6 wt. for nymphs and large dry.
