that superfine 7'6" 3 wt. in particular looks like it would a blast to fish

Yep.. with this summer's low flows that was my go-to rod most times.

I got this one in the mail about a week or so ago from the UK. It's 1951 vintage Hardy Palakona JJH Triumph, 8'9". I test cast it with good results with a DT4 line but I think a 5 might suite it better, I'm going to try a WF6 line to see how it feels before I buy more lines though. The rod is in all original good condition but could use some new guides and varnish, but I'm not sure if I'm goin to rebuild it or not yet. Both the original agate stripper and tip guides are still in good shape. This rod is a little heavy but casts extremely nice and should be a fun rod to have on the river. It's going to be pulling double duty of fishing and as decor for the wall of my office.
