What brand/model reel is that with the 'trout pattern' on it ? That's very nice.

I've messed around with a smaller version in the brook trout pattern- not a light reel, but really nice.

my favorite small stream dry fly rod, net & reel...a 6' 3/4 wt bamboo I made, elk antler and sinew accents and wraps, teak insert in reel seat, custom cork grip ... with a reel I added a few details from antler...the net is made from red oak laminations w/ bamboo strip on outside edge...rubber bag attached w/ braided dacron...

there is nothing more fun than catching a trout with a fly I tied...with a rod I made...and had a home made net handy to help land it...the circle be unbroken!

Thanks Casey.
It's really a blue collar rod. (Pun intended)
Pictures don't do it justice.
It fishes better than it looks.

The wife surprised me "A Christmas Story, Red Rider BB GUN" style this Christmas. There I was opening my last plaid shirt gift (which I love) and felt a little let down that I didn't get my "bb gun".

Lo and behold she craftily (with her feet) slid a present out from under the couch that looked like a tube of wrapping paper. With a puzzled look on her face she said "What? What's that I see under the couch...."

I lost it! It was indeed (another) Christmas to remember.

Something new to try in 2013!!!

Abel Super 6N matte Brown Trout"

Is it just me but it seems the rods needs to be at the front a flats skif with a bikini babe in the picture somewhere, not in the grips of winter.

Nice rig,

Pete A.
