What a rig, I may onne day spring for a Saracione 4 1/4 Salmon. But then I will need a rod for it..............

The rod and reel will be like art on the stream Cardo.

Do you know how hard it is to get a rod delivered to your office at 10AM and have to stare at it ALL day while it's sunny and 75* outside? BVK 8wt for my Redfish trip this Fall, I'll have to break it in on the beach this summer

I'm looking forward to the day when I fish this rod. Sure would like to know who owned it. Its an EW Edwards, unfortunately with two broken tips. I had the special pleasure of emailing with the author of "Playing with Fire" about this rod over on the Classic Fly Rod Forum. Great forum, but I spend more time with newer rods.... until I get this restored! I've seen some beautiful restorations and have some recommended names to ask if they will do it, and have Of course I'll have to get a vintage Hardy to go with it.

Picked this Goodwin Granger Champion from the classifieds... It was love at first sight.. This rod is sexy... Went out and gave it a cast today and popped my bamboo cherry... What a feeling... The age and history of the rod along with the action of this rod makes it quite the delight to cast... Takes you back to a time when things were simpler and moved by slower

My old fishing bud from PA. has that same rod maybe? 8'6" for a DT 5 line, same silks and he uses an old Ross Cimarron on it. You may find any number of vintage reels that would make a perfect match with that rod.

Nice,

Ard

Thanks Ard, I have it lined with H&H DT5 and it casts effortlessly... I have an OC Wanita on the way as well that I'm hoping fits the reel seat well. My Olympic 450 foot was just a little too big for comfort.. but zip ties and o-rings helped me get it out on the water.. what else was I gonna do? sit there and look at it

I hear that, I am due to actually get out on the water myself. It's a big commitment because once I start I will be gone most every day until the next freeze. Everything is ready but me, I will be taking the boat down to the launch and leaving it this year not hauling back and forth. Soon, real soon.
