About six years ago I bought two Cabelas lines. Both lasted quite long, in fact I still have them. I switched to shooting heads. I've heard of many good lines cracking. I'm not sure of why.

I use the rod# 865-5 both the rod reel and line have a life time warrenty since its a cabelas brand. They will take it back no questions asked. I think the $145 for the combo is a great price for a lifetime rig. You will most likely upgrade to other rods and reels but you wont out grow this rod
