Default need help with bamboo

Hi im new to the forum and recently got a montague clipper bamboo fly rod. Its a 3 piece and it came in a M8 spare barrel case, seems to be 1940's.lm new to bamboo and does any body now anything about this rod and line weight to use on it.

Hey welcome to the forum! I'd chance a bet that it'll take a 6wt, it seems 6 was the most popular weight rod back then. If you have the lines to try or a shop with demo lines try everything you can from a 7wt down to 4 but like I said I'd bet its a DT6.

Just did a search on another forum () and folks talked about liking 5 and 6wt lines with them. x2 for what wt bash said, if you can get a range of lines on it and see what you like. You might like a different line than the next person.

Thanks for the welcome and respose didnt think u guys would respond that fast.I tried it with a WF6F fly line I had and it casts beautifuly. Thanks again for the help.
